A future in politics?

Two weeks ago, Sonia Kwon held a little cocktail party for the Raise Your Hand coalition. With the recent news from Ron Huberman and CPS, the atmosphere was fairly light, despite the talk of education politics, and the politics of Chicago in general. Three candidates for city/county public office were in attendance. One of them, Ameya Pawar, suggested that to further the Raise Your Hand cause of sustainable education funding, we, the mothers and fathers of CPS students, consider running for one of the 50 ward seats up for re-election in February. What do you think? Do you have a future in politics? Would you consider running for your alderman’s seat?
