Petition To Consider
This snow though! We are thinking about families walking to school and being able to access school buildings safely during the Chicago winters. This petition calls on Chicago to prioritize pedestrians as much as cars and create a plan for clearing snow from sidewalks courtesy of Better Streets Chicago.

CPSâ 2021 Community Budget Meetings
From an email sent to parents on Fri, Feb 12:
CPS will hold town hall meetings to engage families around the districtâs budgeting process. These meetings will provide community members and all interested stakeholders with an overview of CPSâ current funding methodologies and other aspects of the FY2021 budget. Attendees will also be able to share the needs of their school community and offer suggestions on how to make the districtâs school funding process more equitable, transparent, and sustainable.
To learn more about our budget, such as where our money comes from and how we distribute and spend our dollars, we encourage you to review our 2021 Residentâs Guide to the Budget, explainer video, and our FY2021 budget on cps.edu/budget for a comprehensive overview of the districtâs budget.
Three community meetings will be held virtually on the following dates:

Online sign up to speak starts Mon, Feb 22, 10:30AM. The agenda will post at 10am. You can try to register via the phone (773) 553-1600- check the links above to make sure this is the correct number on registration day.
You can submit comments to the BOE via a Google form which will be linked toward the top of the homepage of the CPS BOE webpage (this link to the form will probably go live on Mon, Feb 22, and you have until the day after the board meeting, 5PM, to submit comments) OR send them via US Mail at 1 N. Dearborn, Suite 950, Chicago IL 60602.
The meeting will be live streamed on the CPS YouTube channel.
