Raise Your Hand Announces Departure of Board Member Brenda Delgado
Chicago, IL – Raise Your Hand Illinois for Public Education announces the departure of Brenda Delgado from its Board of Directors. After 12 years of dedicated service, Brenda resigned to pursue the opportunity to serve the community in a new capacity by running for an elected seat on the Chicago School Board.
Brenda has been an asset to our organization, bringing passion, expertise, and unwavering commitment to our mission of parents and Local School Councils seeing themselves as change-agents. Her contributions have been instrumental in advancing our programs and initiatives, and their leadership will be missed. In her own words,
"I am overjoyed at what we as a city, a coalition member, an ally, a community of engaged parents, a non-profit, a kick-ass staff and dedicated board have been able to accomplish in just over a decade, with an impact that will last for generations. Most of our board decisions have been unanimous, even if it took a bit of debate to get there, that goes to show how committed we are to the same purpose-every kid deserves a well-resourced public education.
I will lean into the path RYH has laid down so firmly, I am ever grateful to have walked it with each of you. Communities are made of individual people, and each single one has such a unique powerful voice, collectively there is nothing that can stop us."
As Brenda embarks on this new journey, all of us at Raise Your Hand wish her all the best in the future.
